Congratulations to the Class of 2023! This remarkable group of individuals worked tremendously hard for the duration of their two year International Baccalaureate Programme and in return received the grades such dedication, perseverance and sacrifice deserves. Their grades and achievement are a true reflection of their commitment to excellence, academic ambition and strong study habits all nurtured and well practised at BISI. 

Excellent Full Diploma Average:

The entire BIS community takes immense pride in celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of all our students. Among the many successes, we are thrilled to announce that those who obtained the full IB Diploma did so with an impressive average score of 34 points. This exceptional performance reflects the high academic standards and rigorous curriculum provided at BISI and is, again, higher than the global average standard. BIS is continually proud that its grades each year are higher than the world average. This year too, we are pleased to note significant improvement in the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay component where several instances of top marks were achieved. This level of critical thinking and research is no easy task and for those who achieved these additional 3 points, very well done indeed. 

Special Recognition for our Top Achievers:

We would like to extend a special mention and recognition to two of our students Giulia Renzi and Flora Grenczer. Both students performed well in their examinations by continuing their focused study habits all the way through to a carefully culminated revision programme. Such a maintained accomplishment led to two outstanding sets of final results. Giulia scored 41 points out of a possible 45, and Flora 43. Guilia was awarded a set of four 6s and two 7s with an A in Theory of Knowledge, and Flora achieved her impressive score of 43 with four 7s, two 6s and an A for her Extended Essay. Both students achieved full marks, 3 additional points, for the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay components of the IB Diploma. Giulia and Flora's exceptional achievement serves as an inspiration to their peers and a testament to their personal and academic growth throughout their time at BIS.

The achievements of the students at BIS would not have been possible without the unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement provided by our dedicated team of teachers, staff, and parents. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who played a role in shaping and nurturing these remarkable individuals, helping them realise their full potential in their IB examinations. The collective effort of the BISI community has truly made a significant impact on the success of our students.

Looking Ahead:

As we celebrate this tremendous achievement, we are confident that the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during their time at BIS have prepared our students to excel in all future endeavours, professional careers and academic journeys. The IB programme has equipped them with a holistic education that not only nurtures academic growth, but also encourages critical thinking, resilience, and global citizenship.

Once more, on behalf of the entire BIS community, we extend our warmest congratulations to all the students of the British International School of Istanbul for their wonderful IB results for May 2023. Hard work, determination, and commitment has been rewarded, and the school is incredibly proud of each and every one of our leaving students. We wish our new alumni all the very best as they embark on new and exciting paths at the universities of their choice. All are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make a positive impact in the world.
